When will the value added tax law be announced in Qatar?

While there have been no official announcements recently by Qatar regarding the implementation of VAT, it was expected that the country would implement VAT by the first quarter of 2022.

At what rate will VAT be charged?

The six countries agreed to implement a 5% value-added tax system and signed the common framework for value-added tax for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Qatar’s VAT framework is also expected to be based on the common set of VAT rules as included in the GCC VAT framework.
